Lots of People! And what's your moon sign?

topic posted Fri, May 27, 2005 - 2:13 PM by  Bri
WOW!!! I just wanted to say thank you to all who have joined this tribe!

There's a lot of damn people in here now!

--On another line of thought:

Lots of us talk about our sun signs, and the influences between them and our rising signs. I'm curious if anyone else has ever noted when their behavior seems to be stemming from the interactions of their rising signs, and their moon signs.

I have my moon in Leo. Under a lot of circumstances I wouldn't think much of it. Sometimes however I find myself believing that I'm not only very charming, but a dignified, courageous, brave and compassionate individual.

I was born as an Aquarian for a sun sign, so that helps me from getting too carried away...but I can tell when I am looking for other people to confirm that I am indeed compassionate, charming, and all the other traits one could pin on my Leo moon. I like to think my longing from confirmation comes from my cancer rising.

So my question I guess is does anyone very have noticeable behavior traits stemming from the mix of their rising and moon signs?

bri.. my fellow sun aqua cancer rising <pinch to yer bum>, my moon is in aries and I notice it much more than my rising sign although I can't really speak to any mixing of my characteristics. I notice distinct qualities that I attribute to my sun ascendant or moon, but I find they rarely mix. For example, my sun will make me all detached, my rising will make me all clingy, then my moon will make me all mad and throw something when I can't find some middle ground. I love my fiery aries moon. It gives me a little <more> spark. Or volatility. Whatev.

I notice the rising sign effect is very temporary. For example, I can be clingy, but only in unfamiliar situations. Under regular circumstance I'm quite like my Gemini self - freedom-loving, hates to be tied down. My Pisces Moon makes me wayyy too sensitive and I cry too easily. It's odd because even when I'm completely sad there's always a part of me that remains logical and analytical.. i'd be bawling like a baby and this cold part of me would chastise me for being such a loser.

oh, thank god for my moon! i would be crazy otherwise!!! i'm an aries sun cancer moon...my taurus moon gives me stability where i would otherwise be a basket case. i can feel grounded even when i'm all passionate and worked up yet..emotional and crabby. go figure..i like my three signs though..they make me a semi-grounded, sweet, fiery person.

I'm Aquarian Sun, Pisces Moon and Cancer Ascendant. I have Chiron sitting right on my midheaven at birth though and I've been told by professionals that this affects every sign in my chart, more than any other at my birth. I wander if that makes me a previously heretofore unknown sign? Maybe my planet is the newest one they just found beyond Pluto? <shrug>

I do know that like some, I am emotional and I can watch a movie and cry with the best of them. Music too. I find it cleansing though. I hate gender ranking and stereotypes. Who needs it? Not sure how Cancer and Pisces interact together . Bri, is there a chart that lists generaly how Cancer does with all the other signs? I know the Aquarians found one for Aquarius so there has to be one for Cancer. That might do a lot to see where moon and ascendant play off each other?

I`m a cancer sun with leo moon and let me tell you, it makes me very sensitive. Here's a good description of the way a leo moon affects you.

"Here the Moon is positioned where the outgoing element fire is held in check by the fixed cross: the energy of fire is drained into the psyche and little of its animation and enthusiasm escapes into the environment. Because of the regressive nature of the energy flow, unconscious factors regularly erupt into the field of consciousness, creating feelings of insecurity-as we have already seen when considering the Sun in Leo. However, with Moon in Leo, the results are somewhat different, for the Moon has more need than the Sun has for security and, when threatened with insecurity, it is quicker to overcompensate.

People with the Moon in Leo need to know they are fulfilling a definite function in the immediate neighbourhood and in society as a whole. This is not due, as it was with the cardinal cross, to any close involvement with the whole, but is due to feelings of personal insecurity evoked in the conscious mind by various currents of influence welling up from the unconscious. Overcompensation usually takes the form of bumptiousness. Because the fixed cross in this sign erodes confidence, the Moon will encourage overcompensation more readily when in Leo than when in any other sign, and we are justified in saying that people with a Leo Moon will have a distinct need to exercise authority and to receive honour and recognition both at home and in society. This can make the tyrant, but, on the other hand, it can produce people who are so grateful to those who show them respect that they will shower others with tokens of friendship. Therefore they can do well as community leaders, even though they may not tolerate much in the way of criticism (others must not find out how unsure of themselves they really are!). Moon in Leo can also make good and fair-minded family men-except that they will not suffer their wives and children to question decisions.

The need for change is still present, but is not of decisive importance. In this connection, the fixed cross tends to bring to the surface the element fire's opposite number, earth; when the Moon in Leo, this can happen so as to increase the need for comfort and safety at the most unexpected moments, especially on the purely physical plane. Therefore ( in contrast to what occurs when the Moon is in the other fire signs) the Moon in Leo does not incline people to be overeager to leave their places for the sake of taking a look at new possibilities. Rather, they do their best to settle down where they are so long as they can win respect and honour there.

With this birth chart position, personal worth and personal freedom are both very important. One should avoid offending those with Moon in Leo; they are so sensitive. On the other hand they like compliments and, owing to the naiveté of fire and the vanity arising from insecurity, they often fall for flattery. However, if those who have Moon in Leo are given the chance to be magnanimous and to feel valued by the community, we clan bask in all the warmth they have to bestow."

Astrology is not known to be the most precise art or science or whatever it is on the panet. That`s why you should take the time and care to be as precise as you can about the information you put into a little form to get out a little reading. Everything you may be getting may be wrong, you`d be surprised! and that`s why you really should make sure you`re positive of your time zone (daylight savings time is VERY important! all the conjuncions u thought would be there could be nonexistant including your house-cusps which also tell a lot in your chart and your moon sign and ascendant could be way off too ;0] Your ascendant ruler is the chart ruler and is considered by some astrologers to be just as important as the sun in your chart ) and the coordinates that are as close as possible to the place where you were born. If you know you were born in india and you`ve always put cochin city as your birthplace, go ahead and do a search on google for trianthulin town, where you were born and find out those coordinates! if the report form you`re trying to put the data into can`t find that town then just put in the coordinates yourself and i they don`t have that feature, then make it your priority to look for the closest city they do have to the place you were born. Your birthcity`s coordinates may be way off your birthtown`s b/c the city covers an extended range of an area...and this is just one coordinate ONE miniscule point around an infinite number of other points, all which could be on exactly the place you were born. So find it =) and then if you want precision..you`ll get precision. Once i did that everything was a lot better and my chart seriously described me to the last tip of the last strand of hair on my head.

I was born at el cerro town, in havana city, in cuba. www.fallingrain.com/world/CU...erro.html

You could try going here: www.fallingrain.com/world
instead of getting coordinates from astro.com to find your specific birth <i>town</i>.

See how it says the exact time zone AND the exact daylights savings time that applied to that area. AND the coordiantes, too? Ain`t it awesome?:-D Now, i don`t have to keep guessing and put havana, cuba as my birthplace everywhere. Now, i even put 10:34 as my birthtime, when it actually says 14:34 on my birth certificate b/c i know daylight svaings time was -4 and so you subtract four, and voila my real birth time. On the sites where you are NOT positive that they take into account the exact amount of daylight savings time that applied to the area (i only know astro.com for sure to do this) you should say that day light savings time doesn`t apply and you should change the birth time yourself b/c sometimes they jsut subtract 1 or 2 hours. you don`t get to specify how much, you know? and i also suggest always putting the coordinates in yourself, or having a backup city that`s closer to ur birthtown for which to look for.

Anywho`z here are some really good sites I`ve found in my unquenchable thirst for online reports lol. They all have a bunch of free reports.

funny you asked, i actually found a site regarding this matter.
    www.cafeastrology.com/cancer_...ign.html

oh yeah, just found this tribe, its great...i was always wondering why people find me to be ALWAYS on the defensive.

my moon sign is in scorpio, so yeah with the cancer rising im therefore a body of water that is quite deep.

    so there!
    • Cancer ascendant pisces sun pisces moon pisces murcury.
      beat that!
      haha.
      Im amazing.
      • Sun Aquarius Moon Leo Rising Cancer here
I seem to be looking at life constantly through a conflicting set of windows. I have difficulty distinguishing where you end and I begin. What is and isn’t me? People tend to think of me as being very mellow and are often surprised be my intensity. Uncertainty seems to be my constant and I have been told this has to do my chart, though I’m not trying to point the finger of blame. Sometimes I feel that I am more emotional then I can handle, it can be difficult to not fall into extremes. I know im a little bit on the crazy side of things in most peoples eyes, but that’s ok.

Seems like everywhere I go I meet tons of Sun Aquarians Moon Cancers, and they have been a great source of inspiration to me as they have all been passionately active with the arts in their life. (except me but im working on it : ))

aquaris sun, leo moon, cancer rising......wow, I seem to be the 3rd person to have these three who have posted on this topic. i can be a detached person (aqua), but then be a complete emotioinal wreck sometimes (cancer). *sighs* but then my leo moon can be a good balance.....

and Emily....you seem to be a lot like me with the characteristics you posted about yourself. :)

Super cool-----aquarius sun, cancer rising, leo moon!!!!!--I wonder what it would be like if we were all in the same room! I am really feeling emily! I'm usually quiet, a little shy. I like to observe, and listen. There are times when I love to socialize, and there are times when that's the last thing I want to do. Need my quiet time. I think a lot, constantly really. That intensity thing.. It seems like a lot of times I'm on a completely different page than others. If opportunity presents, it's usually good conversation. I love to tell stories, get overly excited, silly....I love to laugh, and have found it the best medicine!---oh, playing my guitar too, is excellent for the whirlwind of energy inside me:)-

Hi Bri, I have an Aquarius sun as well! My moon, however, is in Cancer...just like my rising. I got hit with the double whammy and am apparently heading in the same direction I am coming from. Makes life, uh...VERY touchy feely, but only sometimes. I've got that good ol Aquarius sun to temper it, or at the very least conceal it well.

    Hi,

I'm new here. I recently found out I am a Cancer rising and a Cancer moon. I actually spent a couple years thinking I was a double virgo until I found I was using an unreliable online chart.

This whole thing is still confusing to me (the virgo sun / cancer mix) but at least now I know why I spent my early childhood bawling my eyes out in front of the radio whenever a sentimental song came on.

Hi!! I'm an Aries...with a Gemini Moon and Cancer rising.

    I swear, this is a crazy combination...I'm hot-headed...yet have a dual personality...PLUS real sensitive (I think) because of the Cancer influence...aggghhhhh !!!

Yet, sometimes...like today...I have moments of great calm...I just never seem to know when this might happen!

    ;)

I absolutely LOVE this site for free astrology stuff:

I find it interesting that so many people have fire and air in combination with their cancer rising. I'm an aries sun, Aquarius moon and a Cancer rising. I find that how I feel generally flows from one sign to the next. I feel like I want to connect to the earth sometimes and I'm super practical, sometimes I just feel restless and charming, other times I'm super sensitive and emotional, other times still I feel lots of healing energy and transformation. I think it's really important to connect to all of the elements and their attributes, how ever you see them. The wheel is always moving and focusing too much on our birthday can hold us back. I encourage you all to break free!

      Alex
