if i'm not mistaken, or rather if i understood correctally when i was being given this info by a remarkable astrologer while we were standing next to a glorious fire sculpture on the playa in the deep hours of the night, if one has cancer as their rising sign, that automatically makes them capricorn descending. (correct me if i'm wrong). i'd never heard about descending influences before but apparently, cap. descending means that cap. is in your fifth house, the house of intimacy. does anyone have the tendency to be controlling, dominating or goal oriented in intimate situations? what about other capricorn traits?

Mon, May 8, 2006 - 10:23 PMyes, but actually, your descending (DC) is the cusp of the 7th house (house of relationships). you are thinking about your IMMUM COELI (IC) which would be the 5th cusp(house of family).
IC - The lowest point in the sky (nadir) that a planet can travel relative to the horizon. If you are born at midnight, the Sun would be found around the IC of the chart. "IC" stands for the Latin Imum Coeli which means "bottom of the heavens. Represent the family relations and the home life and is opposite the MC.
the Descendant, formed by the horizon line going across the chart from the Ascendant, is the sign that was setting in the west at the time of birth, like the sunset.
